We’re delighted to announce that the new Velindre Cancer Centre has been shortlisted for Best New Development at the international MIPIM Awards. It was shortlisted from more than 230 entries across 47 countries at this year’s MIPIM Awards.

The new cancer centre is developed by The ACORN consortium made up of Sacyr, Kajima Partnerships and abrdn with us as lead designers, is one of the largest construction projects in Wales. As a part of a broader transformation across Velindre University NHS Trust, the new cancer centre will provide patients and carers with high-quality and sustainable services, delivering the most effective treatments while also leading national and international education, research, and innovation in cancer patient care.

We’re pleased that the new Velindre Cancer Centre has been shortlisted for the MIPIM Awards. It’s a clear recognition of the project’s ambition to create a low-carbon, sustainable healthcare environment that supports patients’ treatment and provides a modern workplace for NHS staff. We look forward to delivering this together with all partners.
