White Arkitekter’s deputy CEO elected to Architects’ Council of Europe

The Federation of Swedish Innovation Companies and Architects Sweden have nominated Carl Bäckstrand as board member of the Architects’ Council of Europe (ACE). The deputy CEO of White Arkitekter is honored to represent Sweden in this organisation.

Among other areas of responsibility, Carl Bäckstrand leads White Arkitekter’s expansion outside of Scandinavia.

”I am grateful for the trust bestowed on me and the opportunity to work so the ACE strengthens its voice even further - also internationally. We have the responsibility to address the climate emergency and other challenges of the same global reach. Only through collaboration and an interdisciplinary approach will we be successful”, says Carl Bäckstrand, deputy CEO at White Arkitekter.

ACE co-ordinates the national architects’ organisations so as to influence legislation and build a common agenda within the European Union. The union, industry and employer organisations Federation of Swedish Innovation Companies and Architects Sweden have chosen Bäckstrand as the country’s representative at ACE as from 22 November and until 2021.

 

Five of the 11 board members are nominated according to a rotation system in tandem with the EU’s rotating presidency. The remaining five board members are elected.
