White Arkitekter wins WAFX Prize for Södra Skanstull

The WAFX Prize is awarded to future projects that take on key challenges that urban designers and architects will need to address over the next 10 years.

The WAFX Prize, which is part of the World Architectural Festival’s 10th anniversary celebrations, is awarded to future projects that identify and take on key challenges that urban designers and architects will need to address over the next 10 years.

Located in southern Stockholm, the focal point of the scheme Södra Skanstull is a new diagonal boulevard for pedestrians and cyclists, which makes use of an old railway route and improves public movement through the area.

The judges highlighted that White Arkitekter’s proposal shows how creating walkability is at the heart of building a people centred sustainable city of the future.
