White Arkitekter Joins the New UN Hub for the 2030 Agenda

As the only company, White Arkitekter will partake in the Sweden Local 2030 Hub together with Global Utmaning and partners. The hub is a platform for capacity building, knowledge sharing and collaboration with the aim of accelerating the local implementation of the 2030 Agenda.

At the invitation of UN Secretary General’s office, key actors in the local implementation of the UN sustainable development goals (SDGs) have established a Sweden Local2030 Hub. The SDGs form the basis of all White Arkitekter’s assignments and with the new vision that all their projects will be climate neutral from 2030, the company has a vital role to play in promoting a sustainable development of society.

– White is a partner to Global Utmaning and given the challenges we are facing it is an important platform for us, says Monica von Schmalensee, Architect at White Arkitekter and Senior Adviser for Global Utmaning.

We have been and are very active in the 2030 Agenda and the 17 SGDs. It is both honoring and important that Stockholm becomes a hub for this work.
Monica von Schmalensee, Architect at White and Senior Adviser for Global Utmaning

The hub is a way to gather civil society organizations, municipalities, research institutes, private sector and networks that are key players in the local implementation of the SDGs. Sweden is ambitious when it comes to deliver on the 2030 Agenda and in the recently presented bill, it is emphasized that “municipalities and regions carry a large part of the responsibility for implementing the 2030 Agenda”.

Together, the hub will strengthen collaboration between municipal and regional actors in Sweden, create areas for international knowledge exchange and build joint capacity to implement the 2030 Agenda locally.
Tove Ahlström, CEO of Global Utmaning who is administrating the hub
