Oskar Norelius named one of Europe’s most promising figures in architecture

We are proud to share that Oskar Norelius, Partner at White Arkitekter, has been selected as one of Europe’s 40 Under 40 in Architecture and Design. This prestigious recognition celebrates emerging design talent shaping the future of architecture across the continent.

Oskar is internationally recognised for his leading role in two groundbreaking projects: Sara Cultural Centre in Skellefteå, one of the world’s tallest timber buildings, and Stockholm Wood City, the world’s largest urban development in wood. Both projects reflect White Arkitekter’s strong commitment to sustainable, innovative architecture.

It is a great honour to be included on this list, alongside impactful architects from all over Europe. This is a testament to our bold, forward-thinking clients without whom this would not have been possible.

– It is especially meaningful to be the only recipient working within a larger practice—this that speaks volumes about the creative culture and collaborative strength of our office. This recognition is not just a personal achievement, but a reflection of the innovative environment we’ve built together, says Oskar Norelius.

Organised by The European Centre, the Europe 40under40 program highlights architects, urban planners, and designers under 40 who are redefining Europe’s built environment. Winners will be featured in the exhibition “40 Young European Architects with New Visions” in Athens in December 2025, and in a forthcoming international publication.
