Origo wins Malmö city’s sustainability award

When designing Origo, an office building in Hyllie, Malmö, we wanted to create a modern and sustainable workspace that ensured the wellbeing of the tenants while promoting effectivity. Origo has now been prized for its sustainability, winning Malmö city’s award “Gröna Lansen” for best sustainable building in the city.

Together with constructor Wihlborgs Fastigheter we have created a workspace where both the tenants and the environment are prioritized. The building offers constant daylight throughout the day and gives a homey feeling. It has a bicycle garage including a dressing room with showers, but it is also located just a two minutes’ walk away from the train station making it easy for tenants to commute.

Origo is certified in accordance with Sweden Green Building Council’s Miljöbyggnad Gold certification, which imposes stringent demands on everything from energy use and choice of materials to the creation of healthy, attractive environments.

Origo is the workplace that almost feels like home. It reconciles a consistent environmental and sustainability approach with a concern for well-being.
The jury of Gröna Lansen.

The jury’s motivation:

Origo is the workplace that almost feels like home. It reconciles a consistent environmental and sustainability approach with a concern for well-being. Each office area has a private balcony with space for outdoor living, vegetation and cultivation. Through volume management and design, the project interacts well with the residential area around it and gives a new dimension to office buildings. Comfortable bicycle parking on the ground floor and changing rooms in direct connection encourage commuting by bicycle. Environmental Building Gold and its own environmental program with increased requirements, realizes the high ambitions from design to implementation and makes Origo complete.
