Inclusive Gateways to a Remarkable River Landscape
The project takes a holistic approach to the entrance zones and their associated visitor facilities, from substantial shelters and viewing platforms to parking markers and wood stores. Each intervention is intended to heighten the sense of immersion in a vast and varied landscape, while making the park more legible, accessible and welcoming.
The design process has focused on revealing what is unique to this place, allowing the specific qualities of each entrance to inform its expression, while embedding the wider identity of Sweden’s national parks. White has prioritised durable, long-term solutions, both in architectural language and in the choice of materials.
