Britta Holmblad Jack appointed Director of White’s Stockholm office

Britta Holmblad Jack has been appointed Director of White Arkitekter’s Stockholm office. She assumes the role at a time when the importance of architecture is increasing in the face of climate challenges and a more uncertain global context.

Britta is an architect, partner, and has been with White Arkitekter since 2006. She currently serves as Deputy Director in Stockholm. Throughout her career, she has worked across the full spectrum of architectural practice – from strategic analysis and early-stage vision work to detailed planning and implementation, with particular expertise in urban development, campus planning and strategic development processes, both in the Stockholm region and across Sweden.

She has been involved in a number of significant projects, including the development of Norra Hagastaden, the Slakthusområdet district and KTH. Her work is characterised by a strong ability to manage complex processes, bringing together sustainability, structure and implementation with architectural quality.

As Director, Britta will lead and further develop the Stockholm office, with a focus on strengthening our position in sustainable architecture and urban development – both locally and in an international context.

Britta has a remarkable ability to navigate between different scales and stages in projects, along with a deep understanding of how complex challenges can be managed throughout implementation. She is a highly skilled architect and a valued leader with strong trust across the organisation.
Oskar Norelius, incoming CEO of White Arkitekter.

– The challenges we face today require an architecture that can both integrate holistic perspectives and manage complexity in execution. Moving forward, it will be essential to continue developing solutions together with our clients and partners to address these challenges. Strengthening the interaction between our international and local projects will also be key, with Stockholm playing an important role, he continues.

I am very much looking forward to taking on the role as Director of the Stockholm office. We are facing a significant development in both existing and new urban districts, where issues such as climate, resources and how people actually use their everyday environments need to be addressed in an integrated way. With the breadth of expertise within White Arkitekter, I look forward to continuing, together with our clients and partners, to develop creative and inspiring solutions that stand the test of time – socially, environmentally and economically.
